This study seeks to identify elements of digital entrepreneurship analysis in organizations from the perspective of dynamic capabilities. The research is qualitative in nature and was conducted through an integrative literature review with documents sourced from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The article sample from the study allowed for the identification of 56 elements of digital entrepreneurship analysis which, based on dynamic capabilities, were organized into 12 categories, forming four macro-categories. The dynamic capabilities were observed in: technology; behaviors, skills, and organizational capabilities; processes and routines that organizations should use to adapt; integration and articulation of behaviors and skills, and routines. As a result, a digital entrepreneurship analysis framework is presented that highlights elements that can be prioritized for the development of digital entrepreneurship in organizations: clients/users in digital media, digital platforms, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), digital business models, digital products and services, digital technologies, innovation in digital businesses, digitalization of businesses, digitalization opportunities, digital startups, and the digital ecosystem. The study offers theoretical contributions by connecting the themes of digital entrepreneurship and dynamic capabilities, and practical contributions by proposing a framework that can be utilized within organizations.

Este estudio busca identificar elementos de análisis de emprendimiento digital en organizaciones bajo la óptica de las capacidades dinámicas. La investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa y se realizó mediante una revisión integrativa de literatura con documentos provenientes de las bases de datos Web of Science y Scopus. La muestra de artículos del estudio permitió identificar 56 elementos de análisis del emprendimiento digital que, con base en las capacidades dinámicas, se organizaron en 12 categorías, que forman cuatro macrocategorías. Se observaron capacidades dinámicas en: tecnología; comportamientos, habilidades y capacidades organizacionales; procesos y rutinas que las organizaciones deben utilizar para adaptarse; integración y articulación de los comportamientos y habilidades, y de las rutinas. Como resultado, se presenta un marco de análisis de emprendimiento digital que destaca elementos que pueden ser priorizados para el desarrollo del emprendimiento digital en las organizaciones: clientes/usuarios en medios digitales, plataformas digitales, Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TICs), modelos de negocio digitales, productos y servicios digitales, tecnologías digitales, innovación en negocios digitales, digitalización de negocios, oportunidades de digitalización, startups digitales y ecosistema digital. El estudio ofrece contribuciones teóricas al conectar los temas de emprendimiento digital y capacidades dinámicas, y contribuciones prácticas al proponer el marco que puede ser utilizado en las organizaciones.

RESUMO Este estudo busca identificar elementos de análise de empreendedorismo digital em organizações sob a ótica das capacidades dinâmicas. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa e foi realizada por meio de revisão integrativa de literatura com documentos oriundos das bases Web of Science e Scopus. A amostra de artigos do estudo permitiu identificar 56 elementos de análise do empreendedorismo digital que, com base nas capacidades dinâmicas, foram organizados em 12 categorias, que formam quatro macrocategorias. As capacidades dinâmicas foram observadas em: tecnologia; comportamentos, habilidades e capacidades organizacionais; processos e rotinas que as organizações devem usar para se adaptar; e integração e articulação dos comportamentos e habilidades e das rotinas. Como resultado, é apresentado um framework de análise de empreendedorismo digital que destaca elementos que podem ser priorizados para o desenvolvimento do empreendedorismo digital nas organizações: clientes/usuários em meios digitais, plataformas digitais, Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TICs), modelos de negócios digitais, produtos e serviços digitais, tecnologias digitais, inovação em negócios digitais, digitalização de negócios, oportunidades de digitalização, startups digitais e ecossistema digital. O estudo apresenta contribuições teóricas para a conexão dos temas empreendedorismo digital e capacidades dinâmicas, além de contribuições práticas ao propor o framework que pode ser utilizado nas organizações.

Abstract Purpose The purpose of this article is to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) of information technology (IT) projects using cloud computing. CSFs are variables that can influence the success of projects and therefore need to be identified and managed appropriately. Design/methodology/approach This is an exploratory qualitative study with 23 experts in cloud computing projects through semi-structured interviews. The data was analyzed using content analysis. Findings The results present a list of CSFs for projects in a cloud computing environment. The study demonstrated that the CSF with greater relevance to cloud projects is the team’s technical capacity, followed by the support of senior management and the team’s soft skills. In addition, results demonstrated that contract item management is a limiting factor for cloud projects. Research limitations/implications The sample comprised only Brazilian experts, so it may not represent the same scenario as in other locations. The CSF ratio for cloud computing projects may vary depending on the company’s maturity in projects of this nature. Practical implications The CSF relationship can guide managers in properly conducting cloud computing projects, contributing to minimizing the risks and challenges that may interfere with the project. Social implications The relationship of the CSFs in cloud computing projects proposed fills a gap in studies specifically related to this context and tries to minimize project managers’ stress. Originality/value Contract items for the cloud context are added to the CSF literature in IT projects, which have not been addressed so far.

ABSTRACT This study sought to investigate the effect of intrapreneurial behavior on project success dimensions. Although extant literature examines diverse aspects of influence on project success, it is silent on assessing intrapreneurial effects, even though companies target and foster such behavior. We found that the more the intrapreneurial behavior and profile increase, the greater the possibility of project success in a broad sense, regarding clients, project teams, strategies for the company’s future, commercial success, and efficiency. Latent class analysis reached three heterogeneous profiles in terms of intrapreneurship. These findings bring evidence of the importance of fostering intrapreneurial behavior on project teams, considering that members will develop it differently, leading to distinct project success outcomes in the middle and long term. Data from 411 project management participants were analyzed through exploratory factorial analysis, PLS-SEM, and latent class analysis. Finally, theoretical and managerial implications are discussed, along with the study’s limitations, and further proposed studies.

ABSTRACT This study analyzes the manifestation of the dimensions of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Project Management Systems (PMS). We used a qualitative approach to conduct exploratory research through a study in literature and a pilot case in a software company. Data was collected from semi structured interviews, documents, and records on file, then triangulated and treated with content analysis. The model proposed for the relationship between the types of PMS (ad hoc, Classic PM, innovation, entrepreneurship/ intrapreneurship) and the dimensions of EO (innovativeness, risk-taking, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy), was partially corroborated by empirical studies. New studies are suggested to validate the applicability and setup of the model.

Neste artigo, aborda-se a orientação empreendedora (OE) em organizações de software. Tem-se por objetivo propor um conjunto consolidado de elementos que possibilitem guiar ações visando à orientação empreendedora em organizações de software. Para tanto, realizou-se pesquisa de natureza exploratória, com o uso de dados qualitativos. A coleta de dados foi feita por meio de entrevistas em profundidade com executivos de 13 organizações com o intuito de realizar um levantamento de práticas efetivas de orientação empreendedora, para compreensão desse comportamento nas organizações e confirmação dos elementos da base conceitual de orientação empreendedora adotada no estudo. Como resultado, apresenta-se um conjunto de elementos da orientação empreendedora, consolidado a partir da literatura e da prática efetiva das organizações, que constitui importante referência para guiar ações visando à orientação empreendedora em organizações de software. O estudo conclui com o enriquecimento e o detalhamento da base conceitual de orientação empreendedora, com a proposição de categorias, agregação de novos elementos decorrentes da prática organizacional e a consolidação do conjunto de elementos, oferecendo subsídios às organizações de software que desejem desenvolver esse comportamento.

This article concerns entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in software firms. Its goal is to propose a consolidated set of elements that can provide guidance for the entrepreneurial activities of software firms. To this end, an exploratory research study was carried out using qualitative data. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews with executives from 13 organizations, to survey actual entrepreneurial orientation practices, in order to understand this behavior in organizations better and to confirm the elements of the conceptual basis of the entrepreneurial orientation used in the study. The result was a set of components of entrepreneurial orientation, consolidated from the literature and the actual practice of organizations. This set of components provides an important guidance reference for the entrepreneurial orientation of software firms. The study closes with the enrichment and detailing of the entrepreneurial orientation's conceptual basis. It proposes categories and adds new elements based on organizational practice and the consolidation of the set of elements, providing important input for software firms that wish to develop this behavior.

En este artículo se analiza la orientación emprendedora (EO) en organizaciones de software. El objetivo es proponer un conjunto consolidado de elementos que permitan conducir acciones hacia la orientación emprendedora en empresas de software. Para ello, se llevó a cabo una investigación exploratoria, a partir de datos cualitativos. La recolección de datos se realizó por medio de entrevistas en profundidad con ejecutivos de 13 organizaciones y se hizo un análisis de las prácticas efectivas de orientación emprendedora con el fin de entender este comportamiento en las organizaciones y confirmar los elementos de la base conceptual de orientación emprendedora adoptada en el estudio. Como resultado, se presenta un conjunto de elementos de la orientación emprendedora, consolidado en la literatura y en la práctica efectiva de las organizaciones, que se convierte en una importante referencia para dirigir acciones hacia la orientación emprendedora en organizaciones de software. Se concluye el estudio con el enriquecimiento y la profundización de la base conceptual de la orientación emprendedora, con la proposición de categorías, el aporte de nuevos elementos oriundos de la práctica organizacional y la consolidación del conjunto de elementos que pueden servir de apoyo a las organizaciones de software que deseen desarrollar la orientación emprendedora.

Este artigo apresenta proposições preliminares sobre ações para o desenvolvimento da Orientação Empreendedora OE em empresas de software. Para isso, apresenta, após uma retomada conceitual, um breve panorama da OE no setor de Tecnologia de Informação TI , a partir da visão de especialistas. Num segundo momento, explora como se dá esse comportamento em 2 empresas de software; e finalmente apresenta proposições preliminares para o desenvolvimento desse comportamento em empresas do setor. O método de pesquisa consistiu em estudo exploratório e qualitativo, realizado em 2 etapas: a primeira envolveu entrevista em profundidade com 3 especialistas do setor de TI do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, na busca de uma percepção sobre a OE no setor; a segunda contou com entrevistas em profundidade com 2 empresários do setor de software, buscando melhor compreender como ocorre a OE nessas empresas. Os resultados apontam proposições iniciais sobre o desenvolvimento da OE em empresas do setor, contribuindo, assim, para o debate sobre ações de estímulo ao empreendedorismo no contexto de empresas de software.

The article presents preliminary propositions on actions for developing Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) in companies which are in the software business. Therefore it brings a conceptual retaken on EO before stating a brief panorama of the entrepreneurship in the sector of Information Technology (IT) from the perspective of specialists. In the sequence the EO is exploited in 2 software businesses company and finally preliminary propositions for developing this behavior in this sector are presented. The researching method is constituted by an exploratory and qualitative study carried out in 2 stages: the first one involves interviews in depth with 3 specialists of the sector of IT in the state of the Rio Grande do Sul, that aims at searching perceptions about EO in the sector; the second step conveys interviews in depth with 2 entrepreneurs from software firms in order to search better understanding on how EO in these organizations occurs. The results point to initial propositions on developing EO in software companies in order to contribute with the debate about which actions stimulate the entrepreneurship in the context of those companies.
